Residents in the area are urged to remain inside their homes and take shelter in the basement, if possible, as law enforcement continue attempts to have the barricaded man surrender peacefully. The man has reportedly been communicating with police, but refuses to put down his weapons and leave his parents’ property. Police say he has fired his weapon several times, and has destroyed some police equipment. The gunman is still barricaded inside the home. Thursday update: The police scene is still active as of 7:30 a.m. Family members were safely evacuated from the home Wednesday morning, but the gunman refused to come out and remained inside the home. ![]() Police say both a SWAT and crisis negotiating team have been activated to assist with the situation.
